The Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study (NIAS-KNAW) has opened its annual call for fellowship applications. This is an opportunity for those who wish to spend a period of time during the academic year 2018/19 to conduct research as a part of the NIAS community in Amsterdam.
Individual and Theme-Group Fellowships
There are two kinds of fellowships that can be applied for: Individual fellowships and Theme-Group fellowships. An individual fellowship is for scholars who wish to work on an individual project for 5 or 10 months. Theme-Group fellowships are for scholars who wish to work together with colleagues on a particular theme.
About NIAS Fellowships
NIAS offers time and space to interact with renowned scholars from different backgrounds. It provides researchers with an opportunity to spend time away from the everyday demands and constraints of the university system. The academic environment at NIAS is conducive to bring academic work to fruition while encouraging the generation of new approaches and ideas.
NIAS Individual Fellowships are awarded to scholars to carry out advanced research in the humanities, the social sciences or at the interface with the natural sciences.
